Skiing holidays can offer the perfect holiday solution, whilst combing physical exercise with relaxation you don't need to worry about those few pounds piled on . Especially if you are taking kids on holiday with you appropriate planning and preparation is key to you being able to enjoy your holiday.

The proper clothing is crucial to a successful skiing holiday; you can forget your bikinis for this one; you need to be thinking warm, and warmer! This is even more important if you’re bringing your children on their first skiing holiday. When your kid's aren't suitably attired they are going to be miserable for the duration and a unhappy kid will result in everyone's enjoyment being impaired.

So, what is the best ski clothing intended for children? First of all you will have to consider whether you're looking for an all in one ski suit or independent ski jackets and salopettes. Both the options come with both advantages and disadvantages, for young skiers the preferred option seems to be the all in one ski suit. Just because most choose this, it doesn't mean it'll be the best choice for your child.

The reason why an all-in-one ski suit is such a common option for parents preparing for a family ski holiday, is probably the warmth they provide. The body heat could be retained as there are no gaps for it to escape, as well as no gaps for the cold air to get in.

If the all in one suit is not your ideal choice there's an alternative. Salopettes worn with kids ski jackets are much more effective at retaining heat compared to same jacket worn with trousers. Salopettes come higher up the body than trousers, reducing the chance that the skin may become exposed to the cold weather. Plus another feature of salopettes is the straps which go over the shoulders, reducing the risk of movement or worse, trousers slipping down!

All-in-one ski suits may also create problems when nature calls so you suddenly end up dashing for the nearest toilet. While some all-in-one suits are designed for quick removal on such occasions (usually the bottom and top part of the suit can be separated), many suits aren't so technologically advanced and may require the removal of the full suit. Not only is this inconvenient, no parent will want their children's clothes in a heap on a less than clean toilet floor.

Exploring the choices from a cost perspective, the all in one suit could be cheaper than the seperate kid's ski jackets and trousers. This may prove quite tempting, particularly when you consider how quickly children grow as well as the fact the the same ski attire is going to be unlikely to last more than one holiday.

On the other hand, separate kids ski jackets and trousers don’t have to be quite as snug in fit as the alternative. This does leaves more room for your child to grow into their ski clothing, possibly preventing you from having to buy a new outfit the following year. Whatever you decide to purchase for your child pre-holiday, the main rule is always make sure you buy quality. Cheap ski clothing could leave your child exposed to the elements as they prove to let wind or water in, and such events will be the unwanted key to a ruined holiday.
